Sarawak Chapter-Ceremony of 30 Years Cooperation Commemoration between JICA and SGH
A total of more than 40 guests including staff from the Sarawak General Hospital, the State Health Department and myJICA Alumni attended this event organised in Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) on 15 September 2022 which was officiated by the Chief Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Malaysia, Mr. TAKIZAWA Masahiko.
This program which was organized by myJICA in collaboration with SGH was the first of its kind which, among others, aimed to commemorate 30 years of cooperation between JICA and Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) in conjunction with the commemoration of the 40th Anniversary of the Look East Policy between Malaysia and Japan. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed in January 1992 between the Malaysia Government and Japanese Government for technical cooperation. This was 5-year project of upgrading of the accident and emergency services throughout state of Sarawak, commencing on 1st August 1992 and concluded on 31st July 1997.
In addition, the celebration of the 17th anniversary of the establishment of myJICA Sarawak and a meeting session with myJICA Sarawak alumni were also held in conjunction with this program.
